Nuwakot lies north-west of the valley, reached via the Trishuli road. Bidur is the district centre. The market is thin and mostly agricultural, with the Trishuli river corridor drawing some interest for resorts and second homes. Post-earthquake reconstruction reshaped a good deal of the building stock here. Land is sold in Ropani and Aana.
